Re: the notion of the majority of Americans' being in the global 1%:
The world population is about 7 billion, 1% of which is 70 million. The population of the US is about 330 million. Even if every single one of the 70 million richest people in the world lived in the US, only about 21% of the US population would be in the richest 1%.

I really appreciated the softness of the definitions of socialism. It’s both too rare to see people making the effort to provide a good and soundly based definition (although it might have been helpful to explain the terms a little more), and rarer still to have people do so while disclaiming it’s irrelevance. I would love to hear a podcast focused for longer on definitions of socialism and their irrelevance. It’s important to have a shared meaning of words.
